The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has announced a comprehensive Special Recruitment Drive for the year 2026. This drive is specifically designed to fill vacancies in the Home Department (Police) and Fire & Emergency Services. A total of 984 vacancies have been notified, making this one of the largest recruitment events in the state.

Physical Standards (PST) and Efficiency Test (PET)

For police and fire services, physical fitness is the primary requirement. Candidates must meet the following minimum standards:

• Height (Male): 160 cm (General), 152 cm (APST)
• Chest (Male): 79 cm unexpanded, 84 cm expanded
• PET Components: 1500m Race (within 6 minutes), High Jump (minimum 1.20m), Long Jump (minimum 4m).

Written Examination Syllabus

The written exam will be of 300 marks, consisting of 150 questions. Each question carries 2 marks. The duration is 3 hours.

• General English: 100 Marks (Grammar, Comprehension, Vocabulary)
• General Knowledge: 100 Marks (History & Geography of Arunachal, Current Affairs)
• Elementary Mathematics: 100 Marks (Ratios, Averages, Percentages, Simple Interest)

Application Fee and Important Instructions

The application fee is ₹200 for General candidates and ₹150 for APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) candidates. PwD candidates are exempted from the fee. Candidates must ensure they have a valid permanent residential certificate of Arunachal Pradesh to be eligible for reservation benefits.

Salary Structure

Selected Constables and Firemen will be placed in the Pay Level 3 of the Matrix (**₹21,700 - ₹69,100**). In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance, HRA, and a special Hard Area Allowance applicable in certain districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
