The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released the admit cards for the post of **Junior Assistant** across various departments. This recruitment is one of the most anticipated for the youth of J&K UT, offering a stable career path in the government sector. The Computer Based Written Test (CBT) is the primary hurdle in the selection process, following the skill test (Type Test).
To download the admit card, candidates must follow the official protocol on the JKSSB website. You will need your Application ID and Date of Birth. If you have misplaced your application ID, you can retrieve it using the 'Know your Application Number' link on the homepage by providing your name and parentage.
The JKSSB Junior Assistant CBT consists of 80 questions for 80 marks. The duration is 80 minutes. Here is the deep-dive into each section:
This is the most critical section. Focus on: J&K Reorganisation Act 2019, History, Economy, Geography of J&K (Rivers, Lakes, Climate), Heritage & Culture, and Important Tourist Destinations. Also, stay updated with the last 6 months of National and UT level Current Affairs.
Topics include: Tenses, Rearranging of Jumbled Sentences, Narration, Models, Articles, Clauses, Synonyms and Antonyms, Pairs of words and their use in meaningful sentences, Idioms and Phrases, and Uses of Prepositions.
This section tests your logical thinking. Prepare for: Number Series, Letter Series, Coding-Decoding, Direction Sense, Blood Relations, Mathematical Operations, Speed, Distance and Time, Statements and Conclusions, and Logical Venn Diagrams.
Since the job is clerical, computer knowledge is vital. Focus on: Fundamentals of Computer Sciences, Hardware & Software, Input and Output Devices, Operating Systems, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint, Email & Internet.
The JKSSB has implemented strict transparency measures. Candidates must undergo a multi-layered frisking process. Use of any electronic devices, including smartwatches, Bluetooth headsets, or calculators, will lead to immediate debarment and criminal proceedings. Candidates are advised to wear simple clothing without large buttons or hidden pockets.
Over 1.5 Lakh candidates have applied for these posts across the UT. The competition is exceptionally high, with a ratio of approximately 1:300 for certain departments. A score above 65+ in the CBT is considered safe for the open merit category, depending on the difficulty level of the shift.
Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, JKSSB uses a **Normalization Formula** to ensure fairness. This formula accounts for the varying difficulty levels of question papers across different dates. The provisional answer key is usually released within 3 days of the last exam date, allowing candidates to submit objections.
